is there a way to deflect particles ie have them hit a object/layer and have them rickashay?
Not really, you'll probably have to use smoke 'n' mirrors for that one Chris.
Maybe have a second particle source hidden and angled in the direction you need, you may have to mask that out (yoiks).
Vern did make a gravity script with dynamics,, maybe you could try applying that to the particles, might be tricky.
Firefox will actually spell check for you if you install the dictionary, my spelling is really crook when I type, so I always use it.
