adding points oddity

Post by arfa »

A bit weird but most likely there is a simple explanation.

Image

Two ovals overlapping - upper above lower.
I decide to add two more points to the lower oval - at its upper end.
The original lines (of the lower) are hidden beneath the upper, but the lines newly created are not.

I tried:
'select shape' > 'lower shape' [didn't get the std. hatch-pattern??]
select all points and (re)create shape.
'hide edge' > (un)hide edge
other? etc.

cheers - arfa

When you select all the points of the one shape and recreate the shape make sure you move that shape out from the other one -- IOW, just slide it to the right (or left) and THEN create the shape again, and then move it back. That should work.

thanks for the super quick reply.
Yes, I tried that.

I have just now tried it in an empty instance of AS -- no problem. What was it about the earlier project? I tried it so many ways but now, in a separate instance, can't duplicate the issue.

The only thing that may have varied previously was a series of 'hide/reveal edges' as I changed things about - and THEN I added the points.

I will continue to watch the space.
Sorry if this has been a bit of a waste.
