Video File Size?

Post by Blue »

It has been a while since I rendered out any animation. I'm working on something now and would like to get a general idea of the expected final file size of the video.

Project Specs: 960x540, 24fps, 4min duration, Saved as H.264 .mov

I understand that file size depends on bitrate, but I don't know what a good bitrate for the video/audio would be, so maybe you can advise that as well.

I know the frame size is wierd...just go with it ;)

Thank You!

It dawned on me that I had QTPRO installed so I did several tests with a 24 frame 1080p animation. Using H.264 at Medium I got it down to 206KB. So that seems to be the way to go...man is that tiny!

I'm curious what file type and codec you use when you upload to YouTube, Vimeo...etc.

Hi Blue.
I just upload any old QT or a WMV file ten they convert it to FLV I think.
Just to add...I checked out your artwork on your link and I must say it's fantastic!

Cheers

I was stressing about keeping the file size down, because my DSL connection isn't rock solid for some reason.

And thank you! I'll have more backgrounds and character designs posted in a month or so. If you add my RSS to your reader I'll update that when they are up to give notice. Working on them now...
