I have to draw some desert-like landscapes whit altered colours (The sky purple, the soil red, ect) but I can't do nothing good...
Camera angle, elements on the scene, Shadows, depth... Nothing appears good...
Some tip?

Do it on paper.

Visit your local library. Browse some books about deserts.

Take some tissue paper and roll it up into balls, Then press them flat. Photocopy them and import to photoshop to change them to black and white, save as png.

Import with only 20% or so opacity and place a light brown layer at 50% opacity.

The random edges give the effect of dunes.

Example

Sorry for poor example, I don't have the time to fix.

You got to take sometime and play with the opacity settings. The example above is not very good. but with a little effort it is a nice effect.

So here is another example with 5.6:

Google for some Road Runner backgrounds...
You can't have everything. Where would you put it?
