Anime Studio 6 Debut Timeline?

Post by htims.nayr »

Ok, so I just upgraded to Debut version 6. I had really enjoyed and appreciated version 5, and was impressed with it's features, especially for it's price. I was disappointed to find that when I opened the new program the timeline had changed, but after reading some posts I saw that others claimed it was for the better.

I watched a tutorial where when a bone or object was moved and a new channel would appear to show the keyframes for that object. This does not occur for me. Is this an error? Or does the debut version not feature it, making 6 a downgrade from 5?

Maybe I'm overlooking something obvious, but I can't animate with one only one channel, it's extremely tedious. Help?

You have to do something to key the time line. Your just used to having empty time lines. This is one of the New Features that just sucks. I sometimes have duplicates of a layer or groups of layers turning the visibility on and off as needed. That nice dialogue box is gone. Now go find the tool and check box that triggers the time line.

htims.nayr is talking about the default behavior of Debut with "Consolidate timeline channels" being checked, not keying the channels. I answered this in the duplicate topic in "how do I..."

I like the "hidden channels" feature. Much more compact. Only takes a second or two to key any channel and you only have to do it once.
