Character Animation Test

Post by Acochran_89 »

Hello everyone,

this is a character animation test that i made for something I'm working on. The character was made and animated using AS Pro 5.6 and the background was made using a combination of AS and G.I.M.P.

I'd love to hear what you guys/gals think.

Any comments/critiques are welcome.

Hm hm ... while the overall rhythm is nice, each singular movement could do with some improvement.

Face: right now it looks like you just tilted the face layer - this makes everything flat. Try to give the face more volume in his nodding.

Strumming hand: needs more dynamic, but this depends on the music. If it's a folk song, this soft movement might be OK. If it's a bit more rock, then the hand goes down very fast, then rests a bit before it goes up quite fast right before the next strum.

Left hand: Would be nice to have some different chords - easily done with a switch layer, no inbetweens necessary. Generally very fast movement between the chords - observe a real musician for some time.
