Preview frame rate exceeds project settings

When previewing a project in Moho with ALLOW FRAME SKIPPING activated the frame rate of the preview is able to exceed the frame rate set in the project settings. Ideally, if you have a project frame rate of 25 fps then the preview should never exceed 25 fps.

I didn't quite understand, but i think you were saying that the project is set to 25fps but when you play it back within MoHo plays it back at something like 27 or 30fps...

The complexity of a scene can change dramatically from frame to frame, so the playback speed depends a lot on averages and guesses from past frames. The first few frames of playback, Moho will try to play things pretty quickly and it will start to measure how fast it's going. The frame rate may be too high and Mooh will start to slow things down.

It's a lot of constant measuring and tweaking going on, so the fps display may jump around a bit. There's no guarantee that playback will be exactly 25fps. The difference between 25fps and 27fps for example, is 3/1000 of a second - that probably won't affect your viewing of the result.

If you need to see the animation at the most accurate speed, then you'll need to render out a movie. Movies are less dynamic in that all the frames have been pre-rendered and playback can be more consistent, as opposed to the procedurally drawn animation played back inside Moho.
