AGH! Help!

Post by JESUSfreakPUNK »

It used to work just fine, but now when I click on insert text, anime studio quits "unexpectedly."
I don't understand why, and I really need to be able to insert text!
I'm currently running Anime Studio Pro 5.6 on a Mac Snow Leopard.
The issue started about two weeks ago, and I've downloaded the trial version of Anime Studio Debut 6...It also quits unexpectedly when I try to insert text.

Please help me!

its a bug, you have to wait a bit after you switch to the "insert text button". just go to another program for a minute and then switch back. the bug is in both debut and pro of AS 6.1 but it was not in 6.0 as far as i know

Anime Studio Pro shuts down almost IMMEDIATELY after I push it. I'm not sure switching to another program and back will do much good, but i will try...

Do you own AS 5.6 before upgrade to Leopard? In that case, did it happen too?
The crash you mention looks to me to a system specific AS's bug not a version bug.

I tried clicking Insert text and clicking quickly into another program, but Anime Studio Pro STILL quits unexpectedly...

I did not upgrade to 5.6 until AFTER I was on my Snow Leopard...No I don't recall ever having this problem before.
However, I've been 5.6 AND Snow Leopard for a while now...Why would It take until now to start screwing up?

Using AS Pro 5.6 / OSX 10.6.2 Snow Leopard

Quit AS Pro / Delete the Preference file /
(Home (your name) / Library / Preferences / “com.lostmarble.MohoApp.plist”
Restart AS Pro / Try again / Does it make any difference...?

Repair Disk Permission...
(Application / Utilities / Disk Utility.app)

are your fonts here...?
(Macintosh HD / Library / Fonts)

If nothing works, do a fresh clean install of AS Pro.

My fonts are in their proper place, I repaired disk permission, I deleted the preference file, and I uninstalled 5.6/reinstalled 5.4...
Still my issues remains.
It's very frustrating, and Mysmithmicro hasn't responded to my email...

Well, I am really running out of ideas... why it still doesn’t work...
Hope, that SmithMicro has some ideas...?
I am using AS Pro 5.6 Build 20080130p with OSX 10.6.2 for a while now...
Have never encountered any serious problems...
The Insert Text command works as it should...

Regarding your fonts:
You might leave just a few important fonts in your folder and store all the rest temporarily somewhere else...

Regarding clean fresh install:
I presume, you uninstalled Anime Studio entirely,
made sure that not one of the old files where left somewhere (except your own project files)...?
before you did a fresh install...?

Did you do some maintenance...? (except “Repair Disk Permission)
e.g. running “Disk Warrior”, "Tech Tool Pro", "Cocktail" or else...?

Did you restart your system...?

You're being so helpful, but It's not working...
Mysmithmicro finally wrote me back.
They said that 5.6 isn't Snow Leopard compatible. Sorry. ugh
