Hi all, I have been working all day trying to figure out what is happening with the library. As you're probably aware, Anime Studio's library resides in the root 'windows/programs/smithmicro/' directory on a PC.
I know about dragging stuff into the library from other directories, I've done it, but what i'm trying to do is create characters using photo-cutout animation. When I open the project I've put in the library the layers show up but the photo images are 'LOST' - even when I drag the source directory into the library too.
I imagine I'm screwing up the system used to keep track of things, but when I try building the characters in the library folder the program (or Vista) won't let me save there. Even though I'm the administrator, when I go to save-as in the library I'm told I don't have adequate permission! Anyone know how to get around this?
thanks

Can't help you with Windows' permission issues.
But: linked images are stored with relative paths to the .anme file. It's a good idea to first create a folder, put all images into it, then save the .anme file into it, and only after that import the images into AS. If you later move or copy the folder to whatever location, AS shouldn't bother you with loosing links to images.
On Mac I can use an Alias of the library folder which points to whatever location. This should be possible on PC, too.
