create a line?

Post by Bonzomi »

New to this thing, I can't seem to create a line. >_< There is no Line tool, and I'm trying to create something like a stick figure.

Lines are segments between points. Try using the add point tool, with two points you'll get a line.

Em... So how do I make the line thicker?

Edit: Okay, now how do I make edge of the line into a curve?

You'd do well to read the tutorials.

Make a line with two vector points joined together, select all the points, press 'U' to half make a shape, then press 'spacebar' to make the shape, then press 'enter' to deselect the shape, then press 'q' to choose the select shape tool, then select the shape, then in the styles panel, choose your line width.

You should take a look on the tutorials. Drawing section is on page 11.
But, ok, I can tell you couple things meanwhile. Until you create the line, you have to paint it, to do this you use the create shape tool Image, select all the points of your line and hit "create shape" (or space on your keyboard). Once you have your line created and painted, you can change the line width with this tool Image.

However, I really recommend you to read the tutorial before asking on forum. Many of the topics are covered there and this forum is more helpful to specific not covered questions.

I did all the tutorials and it still took me weeks to figure out that I could make a line. :)

I don't know why. I don't believe that the tutorials actually coach you in LINES, just shapes with connected endpoints. I needed to make the logical leap that "Create Shapes" also works with a simple line.

Yes, you are right, I went to the tutorials to help you and realized that lines are not specifically covered, I think the creator unconsciously thought it was too obvious (but you can write a tutorial based on the "obvious").
