From google traductor:
Pengiranje (as we in the studio called the process of putting bones in some elements of the figures that are then kept in PNG format) are generally used in places where the characters move through a staff-dimensional. We also use it for preparation and completion of movement, as well as additional tamping or stretch drawn series of images (eg easy trust nod or hand gesture). The effect of us really liked. On the one hand, it is classically izanimiran movement on the other hand has a softness computer-rendered sequences
I understand it as a frame by frame animation using images controlled by bones for a "staff-dimensional" movement.
Beautiful images anyway.

but some of the images are clearly drawn in ASP.
and some movements like hair moving in the wind, looks like vector layers controled with bones.
and the eyebrows of the face in the last shot of the trailer looks like the lines you get when the 'line width' is not varied, and even the distinctive way the line curves when you 'sculpt' the shape with 'points'.

and your right genet, the images are very beautiful!
its refreshing to see visual design like this reaching the mainstream.

but rumor is hollywood is going to do a live action remake of this :(
so much for reaching the mainstream......
