Hello there
once again I'm stucked with bone rigging
I have a character that wears a dress, she's a girl, of course
I want her dress shoulders to move accordingly with the arms movement...
I tried with different solutions but got no good result...
Here's the link: http://www.void-animation.com/download/Laura.zip
If you notice, the shoulders from her dress remain still.
I tried adding bones to them and parenting them to the main bone... but got weird results
Hope somebody can help me... (maybe Selgin again? )
I can't view your file because I have an older version of Anime Studio. But if you post a screen shot of your bone and vector set up, I can get a better idea of your problem.
1. I added a small bone to each shoulder. Each one starts where the actual shoulder would be and sticks out and downward slightly at about a 30-degree angle.
2. I made the "chest bone" (#3) the parent of the shoulder bones.
3. I lowered the strength of the shoulder bones so they almost cover the sleeves, but don't go outside.
4. I set both of their angle constraints to -30 and +30.
5. I set their angle control bones to be bone #3 (the chest) and just used the default value (1).
Now, when the chest bone moves, the shoulder bones move as well, and they make the sleeves flop around a bit. You could make them flop more or less by changing the angle control bone value.
Also, if you want the shoulders to bounce a bit more, you can use bone dynamics instead of the angle control bone:
1. Follow steps 1-4 above.
2. Turn on bone dynamics for each bone.
3. Try the values 1, 0.50, 2. When you play the animation, the bones move with the parent bone (the chest), but their rotation is affected by the bone dynamics. I like this look better than the "angle control bone" method, it's more natural.
