total newbie using Anime Studio Debut

Post by aztecmike »

Hi, boring question but if anyone can help would be great.

I'm totally new to Anime Studio, just been using Debut for a few days now. I've drawn a fairy simple little character with stick arms and legs but with a rounded box for a body. I've rigged up a simple bone structure following instructions and seems to be ok. I've also done a couple of switch layers with different eyes and mouths for the character. So far so good.

However when I go to manipulate the bones, they affect (warp and move) the switch layer stuff (mouths and eyes. Obv I dont want them to move. I have the switch layers within the bone layer (so that it all stays together if i move the body around). Is there anyway to tell the switch layer that I dont want the bones to affect them? Iv reduced all the bone strengths to as minimum as i can, but they still seem to affect everything.

I know Debut is fairly crap compared to the main Studio Pro (its maddening not being able to create folders in the layer window to group thing together) but there must be someway to achieve this. All the examples have been done in Pro, so they aren't any help.

If anyone at all can help it would be great. I only want to do a simple animation.

Thanks!

Make a bone for the head and bind the points/layer to that bone. In the help tab click on help and look at page 59 and 208.
Sorry for bad animation
