meteor showers

Post by meltedtoons »

I'm right now working on a film (with real life footage) and wanted to have a meteor shower. So instead of looking for stock footage I decided to create it on AS6 Pro. I want to have it looking like this,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-2RFId_ ... re=channel

now ignore the color correction, shakyness, sow/rain. Just focus on the meteor.

So anyone have tips? I'm quite new to particles.

So recap: I want to create a particle that looks like a meteor (not the rock itself but the streak) and I need a plum of clouds to trail behind it and slowly fade away.

I made this with your video in mind and wrote up basically how I did it. Hope this helps. I'm sorry I did it in AS 7 Pro. But maybe the video will help as well as the notes.

This isn't much to look at but It took all of 5 min to make in ASP. Take the smoke script and tweak some setting and then have that layer follow a path.
