Didn't really know where to post this. But I thought I would just post it here. Well I've been lurking here for some time, and just decided to take the plunge and join up. Of all the communities I frequent that revolve around drawing and art, and even animation, I think lost marbles is so far the most friendliest, kindest, and helpful place I've been too.
So, while I don't consider myself a great artist or an animator in any sense, I'm glad that I've found a place that I can come to and explore my creative side.
So I want to open up this post with a bit of questioning.
What is it about art that you guys love so much? What is it about animating and drawing that draws you to it?
For me, I'm way into steampunk. Datamancer is probably my favorite prop maker. I've always had this strange fascination of making artifacts and leaving it behind so people can go on adventures with it. I use to be a geo-cacher (look it up). The only thing is no body liked me because I would hide the clues in dorodongo balls, and there would be a paper inside, but you had to get it wet to see the hidden writing. Oh well.
Drawing was just an extension of this love to create. I would watch a cartoon and think, "Boy it would be awesome if I could do that," or, "man it would be cool if this character did this."
I first started drawing "Ah! My Goddess!" It was my favorite comic at the time, and while I doodled with that I moved on to drawing retro as well. So my main influences for drawing usually came from "Ah! My Goddess!", "Black Butler", "Negima", "Samurai Jack", and "Dexter's Lab." It didn't really help me in solidifying a style at first.
Eventually I learned to come to terms with my own style, which was called Lazy. So for me, I love to draw because it's creating a world where I am god. I never said I wasn't an egotistical maniacal jerk muffin face.
My avatar was drawn by me, that's Ciel Phantomhive from "Black Butler."
I personally like the softer looks of the anime. I never really got into the crazy action animes.
"Today, on Dragon Ball Z, another flash back of an episode last month that doesn't really matter, and Vegeta is going to take a squat and yell for thirty minutes!" Never really got into it.
So there's my little blurb of ten billion words. Thank you in advance for reading this all the way to here. And I look forward to hearing from you all soon.
Thanks.

Before Anime Studio *became* Anime Studio, it was called Moho. A number of long-time Moho users were kind of ...nonplussed... with the name change, as the software had no specific connections to Anime at all.
So quoting a lot of anime sources isn't necessarily going to get you any replies -- try sticking to basic animation principles. Just my two cents -- even though I live near "Nottinghamshiresville"...

You can't have everything. Where would you put it?

I think I remember something about Moho turning into anime studio. Wasn't Moho originally a freeware?
As for the cartoons I mentioned, got it. Sticking with animation principals.
Still, I really like the community here. It's pretty nice. And there are some really good artists and animators here. So I hope to contribute when I can.

No, if I'm right, Moho never was freeware.sasafrasisreal wrote:I think I remember something about Moho turning into anime studio. Wasn't Moho originally a freeware?
