ASP 6 and strokes

I re-installed my ASP 6, and am experimenting with drawing in it, and the first thing I cannot quite figure out is how to get a consistent stroke? I'm using the free hand tool, and the strokes are all caligraphic,,, or tapered at the ends, thick in the middle. While a neat effect, I'd like to turn it off.

You can adjust the settings for the free hand tool by clicking on the freehand option button located right below the FILE/EDIT/DRAW etc. menus at the top of the workspace. You can set the stroke to constant thickness and turn off tapered ends.
