First tutorial on my blog

Hello everyone, I have finally put a first video tutorial on my blog.

It is full HD and has English captions, French ones are in the works.

I am looking forward to comments or suggestions.

Edit: For those who have not figured it out, this is an electronic voice, thought I'd give it a try!

nice start Gilles - but i'm not sure about the robot voice... I think i'd rather hear your voice, even if you have a frenchy accent

(it probably takes you way longer to type all the text for the robot to speak and syncing it??

Being 80% deaf, I really appreciate the text added. I think its the first time I ever see a tutorial with text in any animation video! I was able to follow along and accomplish what you just did!

Very good point - by all means include the text (which I didn't see) but personally, I prefer human voice over robotic one

Thank you for a very easy to understand tutorial on masking.

From my senior's position, masking is a very complex subject and the more tutorials the better.

I was really quite impressed by how well the voice sounded. I guess text to speech has come a long way.

Hello every one and thanks a bunch for the comments.

There will be closed captions on all my future tutorials, in french and english.

I too find the voice ok, and yes i has come a long way since the early 90's electronic voices.

You can actually add emotions, like laughter and crying now, and put emphasis on words.

The syncing does not take too long, as I use the closed caption text, which comes first in the development of the tutorial.

I will have a go at my own voice today, just to see, but I want no complains about it!

I just created a tutorial on creating 3d looking objects/images in scenes- I hope it will help others - perhaps you can recommend an area on this forum where others can use it - if its suitable or indeed helpful please feel free to link it on your blog

Excellent work Brooke, this should be in the tips & techniques section so people can find it easier. BTW, if gilles doesn't go with the computer voice or his own, he should hire you to do it. I could listen to you all day, you have a very nice voice. I'm a sucker for a British accent

I could use a british accent electronic voice, there is a female voice that gives me goose bumps!
