Animate over layers

Post by Datpiff90 »

Hey, I'm new to 2d animation and I was wondering how would I animate a bag being tossed over a fence. I tried hiding the bag under the fence layer then on a certain point in the timeline move the bag layer on top of the fence layer..thks

You could do layer animation, or, for more subtle animation, you could use masking.

Many different ways to do this!

Like Gilles said, lots of ways to do this. Easiest IMO, is to put the bag and fence in a group layer, double click on the group layer in the layer palette, and choose the depth sort tab. Select the allow animated layer ordering option. Now got to the place in the time line you want them to switch and drag one of the layers to over or under the other layer.
