E4 E Stings competition entry

Post by neilk »

Hello all.
This was our entry in this years E4 E-Stings competition (a UK TV channel) created using Anime Studio Debut 7.

http://youtu.be/c0NCqsmVN0g

There were strict rules about it being exactly 10 seconds long, only one entry per person, and the visuals and audio being all your own work (unless you chose to use one of their pre-made sound bytes - which we didn't).

The competition finished on 1st July but sadly there have been lots of complaints over the way it was run. Like many others, our entry didn't appear on their site and there was no entry confirmation email. Their system wouldn't let us upload it again as it said the video had already been submitted. Like lots of other people who had worked hard on their entries, we got no replies to the queries we made to E4 either. Such a shame so I have decided to uploaded it to YouTube now for others to see.

Hiya. I liked the rendering/colours - good walk cycle. Only thing I found a little strange was that the robot seemed to fall over and then got pierced with the flag (thought the piercing was a great idea). You could also maybe, make it more floppy as it goes down - tricky I know. anyway, hope that helps and sorry to hear about your E-string experience. I was thinking of entering but I think I'd be really annoyed by that as it takes so much work to make an animation. You at least like to think someone sees it.

Thanks for the replies.

@EijiNizuma
The walk was designed to look tired and drudging, hence why the robot drops to the ground as if worn out. Then, in an almost 'survival of the fittest' scenario, the E4 robot pierces them with the flag.
