Hey,
So, I have a character facing front. I want to make him walk towards the screen but I can only move bones left & right. What I want to do is make his leg bones move forward, backward, up & down. Not side to side.
Only one way to make bones move?

Hey gnarlynome,
I think the best way to use imported artwork is as material for tracing over.
In other words, import a hand-drawn character or object as an image layer, then create a new vector layer and use the drawing tools to trace the character.
If you want to get sophisticated with your bone set-up, you'll want to have a number of different vector layers for the various body parts (i.e. feet, legs, torso, head, arms, hands, etc.). Put all of those vector layers into a bone layer, and bind each vector layer to its own bone (either with point binding or layer binding).
I hope that helps.

Send me the images and I will rig it for you so you can see what i was talking about yesterday.gnarlygnome wrote:are you animating a character that you drew by hand and imported as a png. file? If so, tell me how you animated it because I am having trouble binding the bones to the separate layers to animate a whole character
