Why zoom factor = 60.

The default zoom factor of AS is 60 from a range from 1 to 160.
I wonder is there anything special to this number, as one would think
of 80, to be in the middle of the scale.

I think somebody compared the numbers to lens width, a long time a go.

yeah - zoom is actually field of view measured in degrees (of angle) .... if you're in to photography - in contrast to lens focal length a big number is "low magnification"; and a small number is "big magnification". actual limit is 0.25 to 160.

use this in combination with the difference between camera z and layer z to work out how large something is in the rendered image.
