Hello Guys,
yesterday ist spend a couple of hours building a set for one of my animations and now if i try to open the file i get the message
Could not open File
Error Details:
Unkown keyword Never" at line 7728
I mean i know i got an "Text" inside the file that says "I would Never say Never", but i dont now why this makes the file get crushed.
I mean if the file is now broken just because i used "Text".. that would just be hilarious...

sorry, my english isn't good ;(
Re: Could not open File. Error Details: Unkown Keyword
It sounds like the file may have gotten corrupted during a save. The error may be caused by the text that is in the wrong place in the file because it was corrupted. Another problem might be strange or unusual characters in the text layer. Just a wild guess.
Have you been keeping incremental back ups? Do you have any older versions of the file you can revert back to?
If you don't have a back up and really need this file you can upload it. If the file isn't totally broken I can probably fix it. I also would be very curious to see how the file is broken for future reference.

thx 4 reply
no i dont have any back ups ;( i just build a set for a animation and didnt start anything with movement, thats the reason why i didnt make any back up yet.
that would save me a lot of time if you could somehow restore the animation.
its a parody about justin bieber so dont wonder about the look of the animation

Re: Could not open File. Error Details: Unkown Keyword
The file opened perfectly, no problems.
My only guess might be the double quotes in that text layer. It is possible that it may be causing an issue. Are you using Windows? I opened it in Anime Studio on Mac without a problem. I can't actually open or edit the text layer because I don't have the font you used.
In the file format text layers store the actual text within double quotes:
"I Wont Say "Never" 2 U"
My thought is that possibly those double quotes within the text could be breaking the file format and causing it not to open properly, but I can't explain why it opens on my copy of Anime Studio.
Here is a file with the inner quotes removed which should open for you (I hope):

--------
My only explanation could be the version of Anime Studio. Make sure you have the latest 9.2 version. There was an update a while back. From the file format header it looks like you are using 9.0. Maybe one of the updates fixed this problem with quotes in a text layer.
You could also use outline text instead of the Text layer type. When creating text on a vector layer you can select if it creates a Text Layer or simply creates outlines of text. This would eliminate any problems with the double quotes, but of course you can't edit the text later.

Re: Could not open File. Error Details: Unkown Keyword
thank you so much!
that really saved some time!
yes i am using windows. guess the update would be the best idea or workaround.
yeah maybe next time i try to use outlines of text (just use it for simple stuff so i guess i wont need any editing). i already used text several times and didnt have any problems so far thats why i was wondering how this became a problem all of a sudden.

Glad I could help!
Nothing as frustrating as a file that won't open with no back up. From now on I recommend that you save periodic file versions just in case
I asked about Windows only because I thought possibly that Windows and Mac might handle those quotes differently when reading in the file. I doubt it though.
