This problem seems to come up every once in a while... I'm never sure if it's a masking problem or a result of my changing of the shapes' fill and stroke colors. How do I remove these unwanted white strokes that appear in my character's hair?
Thank you.
I think its a masking problem, and unfortunately I'm not sure there is currently a solution...
On the up side, in this particular case, they look quite nice!
maybe - just maybe - because you said you changed the shape's colours: this sort of thing happens if you change the stroke / fill colour by *creating a new shape* over the old one -- i.e. 2 shapes using (mostly) the same points. You can check if this is the case by using the shape select tool.. select the shape; then ctrl-downArrow and see if the fill/stroke colours change in the style window. The "top" shape (the last one created) will be the one you see on render, but there may be parts of the first created one still visible. You can delete the first shape by raising it to the front and then carefully using the delete shape tool.
Thanks for the help, guys. Unfortunately, it appears to be an unsolvable masking problem, as funksmaname stated... I guess I can always redraw the shapes, but this is something that should have been fixed in a software update, as it's something that occurs often.
Oh well...

I was able to change my masking so that it would work properly. I placed the shapes that make up the hair into a group layer, which was added to a mask (no masking within the group; set to "Clear the mask, then add this layer to it"). Then I added a shading layer.
Now I can add shading to the hair, just as I had initially planned.
