Particles not generating evenly spaced

I'm not sure if I am doing something wrong with my particle generator but i cants get the particles to generate evenly spaced, either on the circular generator or on a shape generator.
These are my settings here



I have double checked my origin points and when i apply evenly spaced on and off nothing happens, I just want to have the leaves evenly spaced up the stalk. Has anyone managed to create something like this?

It looks like the "evenly spaced" option is not working properly... i tried many different ways and it doesn't seem to do anything, the particles behave the same way whether the option is on or off.

Your best option is to do it by hand.
