How can I handle different resolutions?

I drew an animal in Inkscape and imported the file in Anime Studio. The Inkscape file has the following proportions: 150x80pixels. After that, I used bones to create an animation and exported the animation as png file.
But now, I need exactly the same animation for a higher resolution of the animal. The new resolution should be 300x160pixels(2 times higher than the original).
How can I make exactly the same animation for a different resolution of the animal? Is it necessary to create the same animation again in Anime Studio or how should I proceed?
I already tried to make the same animation again, but then the animation always looks a little different than the original :(

1. For best results -- with bitmaps, always work in a high resolution. You can always downscale without too many problems. Upscaling is problematic.
2. For quickest results -- If you have Photoshop or Gimp, increase the bitmap size there. The end result may suck, but you might find that preferable to doing the job again. It's a compromise, but your client may not like it.
3. What you'll probably have to do --- do it again...
You can't have everything. Where would you put it?

I can import the 300x160pixels animal drawing as .png or .svg file in Anime Studio. Is it better to import the .svg file?
Is it possible to scale down the 300x160pixels animal drawing and its bones in Anime Studio so that I just need to create the animation once?

If the animation in Anime Studio is image based you can still "replace" those images with "higher resolution" images from Inkscape and it should simply update automatically. You would need to increase the size or resolution of the artwork in Inkscape FIRST and then export the exact same image or images from Inkscape at that double or larger resolution (whatever you need).

Replace the image files you used in Anime Studio. Name them the same so they "replace" the images in your Anime Studio file. Image layers are "linked" in Anime Studio. Images are not "embedded" in the file. Replacing the original images will replace the linked images in Anime Studio.

When you open the Anime Studio file the images should appear exactly the same as long as you didn't change the aspect ration of the Inkscape file. Then you simply increase resolution in the project settings to the size you need.

In the future if you are using Inkscape or similar, export to SVG for use in Anime Studio. When you import SVG from Inkscape into Anime Studio, the result is a vector format which is completely resolution independent. You can change the size or the animation export without worrying about the resolution of the artwork.

However, SVG import into Anime Studio may require some "clean up" depending on the complexity. It also may animate differently with bones than image layers. Image layers and vector layers work with bones differently. Vector layers have more options though.

If you have a lot of texture detail, don't import it as a .svg file. You'll end up with thousands of points/nodes which will take you hours to edit. Honestly, it's better to import a bitmap and re-draw it in Anime Studio if you want a vector drawing. I didn't believe it when I started with AS but it's true...

Yes. You could have a file, say, 600x320 pixels and export a 300x160 pixel version. In one of Anime Studio's sister programs, Manga Studio, comic creators often work in print resolutions (300 pixels per inch and upwards), but can still export to web resolution (75-96 pixels per inch) if required. That way they get the best of both worlds. You can do the same in Anime Studio.
NOTE: Don't forget -- if you are going to zoom into a bitmap in AS, or intend to use a close-up, increase the bitmap resolution accordingly.

I imported the high resolution .svg file in Anime Studio. The drawing's resolution is 160x320 pixel. But the drawing looks different in Anime Studio. Some of the colors of the drawing are missing. There were two color gradients in my drawing and now both of them are just white. Am I doing something wrong or why are the colors missing?

If it was me, and it was only this one drawing, I'd just reproduce the gradients in Anime Studio, chalk it up to experience, and remember that AS doesn't import gradients in .svg files. Or import .png files instead... (I know that AS has a problem exporting gradients to Flash format, for example).
