bind points..help!!

hi guys ive never used the bind point thing before...I clicked on my torso bone and my bind points tool remained dull meaning I couldn't use it....what will bring it back to life? any ideas?

If you have already set your layer to the "Bind Layer" tool, before you can rig your points with point binding, you have to

1) Select your layer
2) Go to the top menu, Bones> Release Layer And Points

Click on that and it will reset the layer so you can start over.
