I use Corel Video Studio X8 (Pro or Ultimate, they're the same program, it's just that Ultimate comes with come extra add ons). The thing that is great about Corel Video Studio (as opposed to Premiere and Director etc) is that it's very easy to get the right output for the job. If you don't know much about codecs etc, it will give you the best chance of working right out of the box, but it also allows you to customize.
You can get it for under $50 and it's well worth twice that price.
Prior to getting Video Studio I had a rough time doing exactly what you're trying to do. Royal pain

Check your export settings Specialoh.
I like Sony Vegas , personally, once again though any editor will need careful attention to export settings, including resolution and frame rate,.

BlackMagic Davinci Resolve (free edition) is what I use. The free edition works for up to 4K footage, which is more than enough for me.
Mind, you do need a fairly powerful rig to run this.

And Cucky is correct: check your export settings first. I always export to an image sequence (PNG), and import that in my editor.

Another amazing free editor is HitFilm Express 3! https://hitfilm.com/express It's like having After Effects and Premiere in one software.
