I cannot see my points

Hello everybody. I am working on a scene where i had to add certain elements to existing things. For example, i have to create a futuristic version of a google glass and put it on a character. I am on frame 0, but when i create a new vector layer, and use the add points tool, and i click and drag, nothing is visible. A line is created, i know this because the tools to edit the line become avaliable, but i cannot see any of it. As it is invisible, i cannot create shapes. I checked the layer configuration, it was set on "visible" and everything was ok. HAve any of you experimented anything similar?

Hello, I had the box checked. It just didnt let me see the points i was making in a new layer. But if i worked in an existing layer, the points were visible. The characters and other elements were inside a group layer, i got them all out of the group, and that "solved" the problem, i could see points in a new layer. I still dont know why this problem happened.
