LAGGING ANIMATION IN Anime Studio 10 Debut

When I'm working in Anime Studuo 10 Debut the animation is choppy...skipping frames but the audio is fine. It's very difficult to animate when it's jumpy and skipping frames when I play it. When I render to MP4 it's fine but in the working mode it's been a nightmare. The animation is 800 frames. I have done many detailed animations before and never had a problem but this time it's slowed my work flow to a crawl. I would reinstall the software but I do have saved characters but it's not a dealbreaker as most of my characters are created from scratch. I tried turning off the auto recovery as suggested in another problem but that doesn't work...I have done many animations on my laptop with no problems...Do I need to update my adobe flash? Would that have anything to do with it? Help...FRUSTRATED>

Try disabling Animation>Allow Frame Skipping in the menu.
