Animated Strokes effect for text?

I recently saw Víctor Paredes' brief tutorial on using animated strokes, and it got me thinking and wondering if it will work on the test (since the text is basically vector, correct?) Say I type a word in a chosen font, but with strokes enabled only and no fill; then tried using the animated strokes script on text - no such luck.

It works only on freehand drawing but not text? It would be cool if the text receives animated stroke effect...

Never mind, I figured it out - I discovered that I only needed to convert the text to vector, and then it works.
