Expected bugginess or is it me?

Post by Jkoseattle »

Still new to Moho, and one of the things I've discovered is that while 88% of the time something isn't working because I don't yet know what I'm doing, the other 12% I'm darn sure I'm doing it right and it still isn't behaving. I'll close and re-open Moho (so fast! kudos, Smith Micro!) and whatever wasn't working will work now. Things like points or bones becoming invisible, unable to select a shape, etc. Is this just a known thing, that you have to close and re-open the program sometimes just to set things right?

On a semi-related note, I have a rectangle in a vector layer with a crayon effect on it, which moves across the screen in a cycling action, peeking through a mask to simulate the surface of a rotating planet. When I playback, I see the rectangle moving correctly, but the crayon effect doesn't render. When I hit Ctrl-R to render a frame, I do see the planet surface texture. Then I hit Ctrl-Shirt-R to render the movement, but I don't see it. Other elements of the same cycling action are happening, but not the texture of the rectangle. Also, I have a gradient sky, and sometimes it will just decide not to render the gradient, other times it does. Should I be expecting this kind of glitchiness or is something else going on?
Most of the time I'm doing music stuff. Check me out at http://www.jimofseattle.com/music.

Some effects only show when rendered or exported, and some depend on if you have GPU acceleration enabled or not. GPU acceleration lowers the playback quality to improve real-time playback. Ctrl+Shift+R is just a quick render of playback. It is not a proper export quality render. Some things, like fill effects, will also depend on which tool you have selected

I haven't seen any of your other problems.
