Need help creating final product.

Post by PhantomIre »

Alright, so I'm still on the demo. And here's why. I can't produce anything!

[a.] When I export to .swf (flash) there's no sound.
[a.1] Supposedly mp3s are supposed to work with flash but moho won't even let me access my mp3 files
[a.1.1] I even went so far as downloading a file converter to convert my .wav to .mp3, then a.1 happened
[a.2] I tried using swftools to multiplex my .wav and flash files but I couldn't run cmd because my computer's an asshole.

[b.] When I export to a video file (usually .avi) the file is WAY too big but manages to play my .wav sound file.

I seem to be one of just a handfull of people who are having this type of problem. What is everyone else doing that I'm not??? To what are you guys exporting? What do you do about huge files?

Please... I just want to figure this out so I can get some real projects underway. Help me.

I''ll just go right to (a2) and say (I'm assuming you're running some version of Windows, yes?) if you can't open a CMD window, your computers more likely sick than an asshole. Which OS are you running, and have you done a thorough virus check lately, cuz that ain't right.

wait what? I'm confused. Maybe I wasn't doing it right. Here's what I did. I went to Start then Run then I typed in cmd and then an error occurrred. I guess I'm doing that way wrong. Anyway, I don't know what you mean by OS. But about viruses, I did a check last week, got three out of the way.

OS is Operating System. Like Linux, Windows 98, XP, or whatever. The the particular big ol' chunck of software that makes your computer a computer, rather than an expensive doorstop.

You're not confused, really. What you did in that case was just fine. And if it doesn't work (curious what the specific error was) then you likely have a - or a few - fundamental bits of your operating system corrupted. Viruses can leave all kinds of crap behind them, and they are often craftier than the antivirus programs. One of the places that viruses often hide is in basic operating system files (like, say, cmd.exe), and if you are having a problem with something so nuts-and-bolts, I don't think you're really properly clear of any virus damage. Or probably more likely have some more stealthy ones still sitting there chewing things up and making your computer act like an idiot.

Just trying to help out and find just where your problem lies, and it seems to me you probably have at least one at a more fundamental level than Moho. I hate tryng to track down stupid stuff that happens to Windows, but ya have to if you wan't a machine that does what you expect, so I do it a lot. Theres a million ways it can kick you in the yarbols.

In Windows 95/98/ME it was called command rather than cmd - still available through Start, Run.

Alternatively, you can get to it via the menu - to open it in Windows 95/98, choose Start, Programs, MS-DOS Prompt. In Windows Me, click Start, Programs, Accessories, MS-DOS Prompt. In Windows 2000 and XP, select Start, Programs (All Programs in XP), Accessories, Command Prompt.

The easiest way to find which version of Windows you are running is to go to the Control Panel (either Start, Settings, Control Panel, or Start, Control Panel). [On Windows XP: switch to classic view] Double-click on the System icon, and it should tell you what you are running.

Note:Only specific types of .mp3 are supported by Moho's SWF export. Check the manual for details.

Regards, Myles.
