
Just do the work, it's not that hard and start with a simple character.
Also, i find most of the time simpler rigs with limited turning but therefore designed to the scene that you want to animate are more effective than spending fifty years on a do-all, be-all 360° thing that ends up falling apart as soon as a scene gets more complex. I just finished a project within 8 days using two characters that can turn from front to side and it took me like a day and a half to rig them all up but that is because i had a storyboard and knew exactly what the characters needed to be able to do. Planning is everything and can save you a lot of unnecessary work.
