movement when not wanted

Post by Mayanima »

Beginner, why does my character start moving from frame one, when I have set the movement to start several frames later?

Haven't figured out how to post an image (yet), but on frame 78 I have copied and pasted the same frame as 0, and on frame 84 there is a new position, I want the character to start moving on 84, not before, but when I hit play there is a slowmotion movement starting from frame 0, ending up in the new position on 84. Why is this happening?

It's probably because Moho is starting with the pose from frame 0 and interpolating to your later frame with the different pose. To prevent this, you should begin posing at frame 1.

The fix in this situation is to copy your keys from the later frame to frame 1. Now the pose should hold from frame 1 to that later frame.

If that's not it, you may need to post your project so somebody can take a look at it.

Hope this helps.

Sorry, I misread your post. It sounds like you want the same pose from frame 0 at frame 78. To do this properly, you should have used Freeze Pose at frame 78 before animating 84.

You should be able to copy frame 0 (at least the visible keys) to frame 78 but if that still doesn't work, try this: Freeze the pose at frame 78 to create keys that you can paste into. Now copy the keys from frame 0 to frame 78. You should now have duplicate keys at frame 78.

Also, it's still a good idea to set keys at frame 1 and not rely on the setup frame 0 as your animation starting point.

Thank you, that really helped! Freeze post (and copy-paste) did the job.
