I animated a very short looping clip of a small campfire, and I hope that I never have to again.
The technique that I used was to add a keyframe every couple of frames, and then to try and tween to the next keyframe. If I ever try to do this again, I think that I'll skip the inbetweening step, as it's really not needed.
I animated fire... never again!

That's a really clever effect, it looks pretty cool too.
I'm not sure if it fits the rest of the drawing style I used, but I'm definitely going to play around with it for future use, thanks.
