There seems to be AI websites popping up everywhere. Viggle is one where you can upload a single image and mix a 3D motion by prompt or video. Just for goofs-n-giggles, I decided to render one my characters and give it try.
Although it's rough, it's quite impressive. The fact these tools are improving exponentially gives me serious pause.
So that's just another iteration of motion capture and rotoscoping.

AI animation and moho animation are two completely different things. Their differences may be greater than the differences between birds and rocks. Excellent animation works are not just spectacles, but also have some purpose. The animations produced by AI are only spectacles and have no purpose. It’s also a reminder of why we, as humans, enjoy making animations.

Although I wouldn't use it 'as is' I can see it being useful for generating reference for key poses.
I wonder how well it maps characters with more cartoony proportions.
Not well in my experiments. The AI has a hard time figuring how to map and rotate non-human features. It appears that the training data is heavily bias toward human forms.
