Does anybody have any reference images they can share, or personal tips, for making a character facing left turn 180 and start walking? I'm not asking about a character turn-around, where a character spins in place like they're standing on a lazy Susan. I'm talking about an animated scene where the character is standing still, facing left, in perfect profile, and then turns completely around, facing right, and takes a step.
I've got the walk cycle done, but I need this 180-degree turn which occurs before the walk cycle.
I imagine step 1 is to have the character turn their head a little, toward the camera, in anticipation of the turn. And then. . .?
All the cartoons I've looked at animate the 180-degree turn super fast, and I need to do it slow. I need to know all the subtleties of the action, including the timing of movements, like when the feet move.
Thanks.

Muybridge is, IMO, a go-to resource for this sort of stuff -- It's sometimes a challenge to find exactly what you need, but persevere. ***Many of Muybridge's images could be regarded as NSFW (non-erotic nudity)*** (the linked image's subject is fully, if scantily, clothed)

Thanks. If all else fails, I'll use those photos, but the odds are pretty good my timing would suck, and I would miss certain subtle but critical movements that should be exaggerated.
I'd like a template prepared for animators. For example:
WALK CYCLE: start with the contact position on frames 1, 13, 25. Reposition character to passing position on frames 17, 19. Raise the character upwards on frames 10, 22. . .etc.

Start and stop of walks seem to be complicted but aren't.
Start: just let the character "fall" into direction of walk while lifting one foot, on first contact start the usual cycle.
Stop: in the last step lean back the character a bit (he must catch the momentum).
When animating FBF on 2's this is only 2 or 3 drawings.

Re: Character facing left turns 180 and walks away
I'm probably going to just do it and see how it turns out. Searching online, I only found examples for 3D artists, nothing for us 2D specialists.
When I do a walk cycle, I like to have a picture of a 2D walk cycle handy, as reference. It would be nice to have one for 180 degree turn-around. But like the song says, "You can't always get what you want."
