Image Texture disappears if not selected

Post by NealF »

Hi.

I've got a simple shape. It's a wall. I added an image texture of concrete to it.
It works fine when it's selected, but as soon as I unselect it defaults back to a solid color with a gradient.

Anyone know how to have it stay with the texture?

Thanks.
I'm in the latest version of Moho Pro 14 on a Mini Mac 1. Also the latest OS.

Does the texture appear in the rendered file? If so, check your project window view settings.

I saw something like this last week when I was helping another user with a gradient texture. I somehow got past the issue, but I don't remember the details of the incident. If I have time today, I'll revisit the project file and see if I can recreate the problem.

Just a thought: does it the same when you disable/enable GPU caching?

Oh, also check your other Display Preview settings (Fills, Strokes, Images, Shape Effects, Layer Effects, etc.) I'm almost sure my situation was related to one of these settings, which may be why I hadn't give it much thought.

I'm not at my computer now, but I think it rendered without the texture.

I'll try it out. Thanks.
BTW, love your YT tutorials.

I was working on a Moho Physics tutorial last week, and I noticed that the directional shading I used got all whacky when I played the timeline. When I pressed Ctrl-R, the shading looked fine, though. When I disabled GPU Caching, the shading then looked correct when played on the timeline.

I think this makes sense: To optimize playback performance when GPU Caching is enabled, Moho probably freezes the shading effect and ignores the directional effect in favor of smoother playback (in other words, it caches it.) So, definitely try switching the GPU Cache setting to see if it improves anything...I'm sure it can affect other things in unexpected ways.

Hopefully, we'll see more flexibility for Moho's GPU support in a future release.
