Scaling Multiple Layers

Post by daveedwards »

I've tried putting several Layers into a Group and scaling the Group, but that doesn't seem to work when entering a value. Or maybe I'm doing something incorrectly.
Is there a way to do this? TIA!

Works here.
Select the group layer, select layer manipulate tool (M) and type in numbers, or just click and drag over the text field.

However, if you're inside the group and select a bunch of layers, only the first one will respond to text field changes. scaling per M tool scales all.

If you select the Group Layer, you can change its scaling, but the Layers in the Group stay at their original scale. Maybe I'm asking for the wrong thing, but I was hoping to be able to scale a set of layers en masse.

Ah!

Well, use the second method I wrote - this will schange the scaling of each individual layer inside the group.

There's some stuff to mind when creating a character/object: while you're building it, it's best to keep all layers at 100% and do the scaling of parts with the point scaling tool. This way everything fits and will not suddenly change size when later in the process you lift a layer out of its group or into another one.

There is also the Copy Layer Parameters script tool.https://mohoscripts.com/script/sz_copy_layer_parameters

Essentially, you set the desired settings on one layer, then select more layers and use the tool to copy any desired settings to other layers.
