Masking a character to look like it's coming our of a TV

Post by NealF2 »

Hi.

I've got a flat screen TV shown from the side so that all you see of it is a thin vertical rectangle which is the side of the screen.
I'm trying to get a TV anchorman to come out of the screen. So basically, he needs to be invisible in the back of the TV and appear as he comes out. I was hoping there's just a way to add an invisible shape in the back of the TV that would hide the anchorman.

I looked at lots of tutorials but didn't find anything that fits exactly this problem.
Any "simple" help is appreciated. :) so far masking is one of the more complex parts of Moho for me.

Thanks.

I just got it working - with a little elbow greese.

I used this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VjdB0AiV
I tried it yesterday but it would mask something but not all of the character.

Then I tried "add to mask" on all the layers of the character and it worked!

I need more understanding, even though it now works. Thanks for the link hayasidist. I'll be checking that out
