Non-modal panels

Post by mgo »

One gets used to almost everything, but these always slow me down when working with Moho:

1) Layer settings. Many of the controls have an immediate effect anyway. Some don't. Wouldn't it be great to have all things change live as we edit them? The layer settings should be a dockable pane without "Apply" and "OK"

1a) "Quick setting" don't feel quick. Calling them via context menu feels clunky, and then I have to confirm again with "Apply". It would be better to integrate them with the settings above.

2) Color picker should be another dockable palette, no need for modality.

3) Gradients. OMG. Modal dialogs within modal dialogs. This should be a swift click-drag-release operation on canvas, with the ability to change the colors afterward by selecting the start/end points.

Don't get me wrong, Moho is great as it is. I love animating in it. But I find it really important to remove the friction of interacting with the areas mentioned above. There are simply better, quicker ways.
