created character distorting on frame l

Post by maggie »

Hi, I seem to have a problem. I have created a character, a dog. He has switch groups, groups etc. all created at frame 0. As soon as I move into frame 1,or beyond, the whole group, or even subgroups jump
about all over the place. I've checked every setting I can think of- thinking I might have left a setting at 'noisy', but no all seems set correctly. I don't want to lose the character and start all over again. It's taken ages. What can I have done, and can I rectify it?
I hadn't even started on animating either, nor have I got any bone groups as yet. Looks like I'm not going to either!

Maybe you can try going to the Timeline. Click Settings and turn on all the options then scroll down in the Timeline and see if anything is keyed that you don't expect.

Hi, I have looked at that- and found that for some reason, nearly all the layer settings were set to 'noisy. So I went thro' every group layer, sub-layer etc., and turned everything to 'smooth'- thought I'd got it- and guess what, it's still 'noisy', even though it now says 'smooth' on the settings.
Don't really know how the 'noisy' settin got there; as I never use it. Don't really want to start all over again if I can help it, but it looks like I can't change the settings for some reason. The keyframes were all at frame 0, and that's where I altered to 'smooth', plus on the timeline settings as well- alll to no avail. Any suggestions gratefully received.

unwanted movement of character

Post by maggie »

Hi Bupaji, Well, I've cracked it! I went through every layer and sub-layer, and I have now learned what the little squiggle means on the layer keyframes- which speeded things up no end. Still don't know how it all got set to noisy, but there you go- Since I got Moho, I have learned that when things go wrong it is almost sure to be my fault.......... not ghosts in the machine. Anyway thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
Maggie. :D
