Its in japanese, translation:
The animation production software which uses cell animation technique. Besides the fact that movement, revolution and enlargement reduction and focusing operation of the picture are possible, transmitted light, it can do the colorful picture constitution which used translucency synthesis and mask synthesis. It is possible to read PSD/BMP/PICT and the movie file, as a material picture as for the voice data as for output the QuickTime movie, sequence number PSD/BMP/PICT and AVI (only Win) corresponds to type to WAVE/AIFF/System7 sound /MIDI type. In addition, to take in the line drawing with the scanner, retention as an animated picture check and trace processing and a sequence number PSD file is possible.
I doubt they have it copyrighted though...

Copyright wouldn't apply here ... a Trademark might, and there is no indication of a TM on the site. The page date is 2005 though the shopping cart is still active - a snip at 18,083円 (US$155). There is also a reference to 2003-04-01 though my Japanese isn't good enough to figure out if that is the released date: If it is, then the product must be dormant if there has been no further updates in 3 years.

Maybe the existing Japanese users of AnimeStudio 2 are going to get very excited to hear the program is now up to version 5. :D

I bet theirs don't do bones.

thats right, its been around for a while.

AnimeStudio II for mac and win
http://anime.cellga.com/

by the way, cellga, which is a test version and works in a traditional xsheet environment, allows for drawing. paint and ink and exporting out for .psd layer etct.

http://cellga.com
its a bit like retas in a way, and this preview version ends i think in December or January. and the funny thing, if you download Cellga, the menus are actually in English? Even when i had my system set for Japanese.

I'd be interested to see if E-frontier JP release Anime Studio. Maybe under a different title?

Some software has changed names when released through the US E-frontier, such as Flash Maker (turned to Motion Artist in English) and, of course the license the English license of Comic Studio from celsys (becoming Manga Studio)

I dont think Japenese patents and names dont apply in the US unless theyre registered in the US.
