Exporting single images (quality?)

Post by Sino »

The images come out looking craby Is there a way to improve that or maybe Anime Studio has something toxic about it

Still Images (Anime Studio Pro only)

Finally, you can export an animation as a sequence of numbered still images. This option is not used very often, but sometimes for certain post-processing tasks, you may prefer to work with a sequence of separate still image files. You can choose between JPEG, BMP, PSD, Targa, or PNG.

The quality relies both on the program and the user who wields the program, my friend. Learn to deal with the limitations of computer soft- and hardware, or suffer the consequences of having ugly pictures. ;)

The above is meant ironically, of course.

There are a lot of good painting and drawing programs that produce a more acceptible image quality. These are called "natural media" programs. I recommend Artrage 2. This is a free version with some limitations and you can unlock the Pro version by buying a software key for less than 20 USD, via the mentioned website.

Animating such pictures is another matter altogether, of course. I'd rather use AS and try to do my best to work around the bugs and limitations, although I know I'm not that good at it and need some serious improvement of my drawing skills.

Hee hee...

The only thing I can compare this question to would be...

... arriving at a blind date... telling your date she is very ugly and asking if she knows anyone more attractive or possibly has a better looking sister that you could go out with instead.

;)

What specifically is "craby" about the output anyway? It looks fine to me.

True Story

I am doing a poster for a play. I started out using Photoshop. Switched to AI when I decided on a cartoony, vector "outline" style.

Got frustrated with that... and I am now doing a print poster in AS! Just because I can work faster, and I can pose the "characters" easily. I actually use AS more than Adobe Illustrator these days.

If you ask my opinion for the "best" drawing tools for vector stuff... well... I seem to like AS just fine.

The only thing I could suggest is either AI or Flash... or... Freehand... or any other program that comes up in a search for vector drawing tools. There aren't very many.
