Has anyone else seen or taken advantage of this?-

I'm having a go at it- I can get pretty good results when I'm drawing the characters from the lessons- but I still suck at applying the method to create original characters. I'm 25 so hopefully I'm not too "stuck in my ways" to become a really great cartoonist.
What do you guys think about applying this animation technique to animating in AS? Obviously this material is geared more towards traditional cell-animation stuff- but maybe a simple bone rig and lots of morphing could get you close? I did some of the drawings in Mike Smith's tweenmaker software (not my characters- hope these are okay to post as I'm new to the forum):

I'd have to say that if you only pick one person to emulate, Preston Blair is the man. We have several dog-eared copies of his books at our shop that are used almost daily.
If you go thru the entire P.B. book via these lessons you'll be miles ahead of your counterparts who don't. And if John K. actually critiques everyone's work, it should be tons of fun too.
Best of luck.
