Where are my lines?

Post by Mila83 »

Hello, I am using AS the first time and have a problem: I imported a ai-file. Now when I export it, everything looks like it should but my lines. They are invisible. I tried to set all lines on 1px width with black color, but it didn't work. Can someone tell me what to do?
Thanks

Perhaps you have only imported the construction curves. You should make a shape (outline only or outline and fill) using those construction lines.
If you choose "Preview" in the drop down "Display Quality", are the lines shown?

My shapes are shown, but not the outlines. And not those lines that don't have a shape. No, they are not shown in the preview either

Then you have to create a new shape for evey alone line that is not shown, and check the enable outline checkbox in the styles window for the shapes that don't show its outlines in the preview.

I tried this too but nothing works. I enabled the outlines and put black color and line width 4, but there is still nothing in the preview. The shapes are all filled with the color I set in Illustrator, but not the lines

To get proper-looking results when importing from Illustrator, every shape must be explicitly given an outline in Illustrator before the export.

If you have shapes that don't need an outline in the Illustrator version, go ahead and give them an outline color the same as the fill color.

thanks, now I could get my shapes an outline, but still my single lines are not shown. I even gave them an outline in Illustrator but it doesn't show anything in AS

Well, I haven't checked out your situation with any tests over here, but I'll tell you what I would consider: replacing your Illustrator lines with Illustrator rectangles. Very, very, narrow rectangles... but rectangles nevertheless.

Then I will get problems with my thin lines i.e. in faces. Then its maybe better to draw those lines new in AS

Yes!!, that's the best option.
