Awesome Solo Project

Post by Captain Jack »

There's some great stuff of all kinds at this web site, but this particular video (Garto) is outstanding. The lighting and shading is amazing, the characterizations in the video are wonderful, and the timing of the movements is absolutely spot-on.

But, what really amazes me about this video is that it's a solo project (except for the music). One person did this in about ten months. If someone had shown me this video and said it was made by a full team at Pixar, I wouldn't have thought to question it.

I think this really shows what a determined person is capable of, without necessarily having the resources or funding of a big studio.

That is really good. Have you heard of this movie:
http://romeoandjulietfilm.com/

It's a full length film that was animated by Phil Nibbelink- by himself. He did all the drawings and inbetweens- and in Flash of all programs! I remember reading somewhere it took him 4 years to make-

Actually, upon further review I see that it has been mentioned before here on the forum (and looks like AS actually took part in the animation)- but no one mentioned that Phil animated and inbetweened by himself- which I think is pretty amazing:

I've got it on my Blockbuster Online que- they'll have it available to rent in April or May I think- so that's probably when the dvd comes out...

I hadn't heard about it before, but I'll definitely look into it. Thanks for the link!
