bone problems and other assorted questions

Post by sorrowandremorse »

hey im pretty new to anime studio, and ive been fiddeling with it the past couple of days. if you could help me with some of my problems, that would be great.

1) when i add bones to a limb or something and i start a move it (lets say an arm) then it twists strangely and makes it look like my character is made out of 2-D paper, how do i avoid this?

2) ive gone under add soundtrack but no music files are ever present, why is this? does it need to be a certain format?

3) switches, ive added a bunch of different mouths for my character but whenever i click the switch layer it just changes to that for the whole movie...how do i make sure i can switch back and forth

4) also how do you add bone limitations (like on that anime guy at every start up)?

thanks for your help :)

1) and 4) Just select the bone and click in the "Bone constraint" drop down window (in the top part of the main window). There limit the angles to the desired values and now the IK would work OK.

2) Wav format is the preferred one.
3) Just go to another keyframe and right -click the switch layer and select the layer's name what you want to show from that frame to the end of the animation. If you want to hide the mouth just create an empty layer and select it at the desired frame.

Have fun!
