An easy question for someone:
When I have an action cycle on the timeline,
how do I stop the cycling somewhere down
on the timeline?

I think you just put in another key frame for the motion and set the key frame interpolation to something else.
Basically if some type of action just cycles forever the only way to stop it is to put in another key frame later in the time line.
I haven't tried this with actions yet just... ordinary keys for point motion or bones or layer translations.
