Bone Audio Wiggle on Mac?

Post by SMSTMG »

I'm a new user with an Intel Mac and AS Pro. I can't get Bone Audio Wiggle to work...even on the tutorial. I see that this was a known problem in Oct. 2006...and yet tech support says it still isn't fixed. Is there a 'work around' anyone knows?

Unfortunately like other Scripts on the Mac, like “Import Image Sequence”
the “Bone Audio Wiggle” doesn’t let you select any soundfile.

Hopefully this all will be remedied with the upcoming release, expected very soon.

Cheers

Bummer, I just got to the point where I could really use that. I am glad, though, that this forum post is here, as it saved me more time. I just tried AIFF, then WAV, then MP3, then the forum.

Gotta start checking the forum first.

Does anyone know which script it is? I'd like to take a look and try a quick hack or two, in case the prob is merely one of how a path is written for OSX vs. some other OS.....

Actually the problem is with the application not the script. There are other file formats that AS for Mac are not recognized.

The bone wiggle script is in my copy of Moho for Mac and works fine.

Thanks for pointing that out, Vern. I have Moho -- I started with that before it became ASP so I have the latest registered Moho on a PowerMac at the office.

Cool! Before I go get it -- do you [or any of our fellow forum guests] know if it will work on an Intel Mac?

It might. I'm not sure.

I think the universal binary version of Moho or AS took advantage of OS features. I'm just guessing.

The latest version of ASP runs great on my Panther system. I don't know if it works the other way though.

You think you have it tough... I still have CLASSIC apps I need to run... can't even upgrade to Tiger from Panther till I upgrade a bunch of my software. ;)

I have to decide if I should upgrade Quark or switch to InDesign. ;)

I don't envy you that; you win!

I used to keep an OS9 box running solely to use Apple's QTVR software. People ask for the stuff so seldom, I got rid of it.

I have to go in to the office for meetings anyway, so I might as well copy Moho to my laptop and try it. I think I might do a lazy hybrid of the advice slowtiger and you gave me in the MAC VERSION thread, and use AS to animate each character separately, scene by scene, and do the rest of the scene assembly, and all camera animations, in Flash.

Sound sync is a big issue, because this is Flintstones-style "illustrated radio". I'm not out to win any animation awards [as if!]; I just want to keep my job at this point!

Uhm, it's not necessary to animate each character in its own separate file - and it would be stupid, too, since you need the interaction between them. You can safely put them together in one AS file. Only when you export you switch off the visibility of all characters except one.

Thanks, slowtiger, for anticipating my next question. I was hoping I could just hide Char #1, and export, then hide the other char instead. Great!

I apologize for my lack of knowledge. I started this thread as I want to use the Bone Wiggle feature on my MAC. (I have an Intel MacBook Pro and ASP). Is there something in the last few exchanges...related to Moho or whatever that solves my problem? If not, does anyone know when the 'update' may be out that fixes the problem?

Sorry, I think the answer for you is "no". :(

The only reason I have some hope left for using this script is that I bought this program when it was called Moho, so I already have the Moho program. I don't know if you can still get it, but if you're a registered user of AS Pro, it can't hurt to ask. I would.

I just did a quick test, though, with Moho, and I find I can open my .anme file and run the script on it. Works. It's tempting me to use Moho for some things, and ASP for others, but first I'll do some searching and reading here to see if there are things I should watch out for, like problems caused by letting Moho overwrite an .anme file.

Well, I said I was going to research the possibility of using Moho and ASP together... but it seems the search function for the site returns nothing for the term 'moho'.... hmmm.

Wonder why that happens?

Do you veterans know of some good threads about using Moho with ASP? I would like to use that bone wiggle script, basically, without trashing anything else.

I still use Moho on the Mac along with ASP on Mac and Windows. Absolutely no problems sharing files. The same files open in both versions.

ASP is basically the same as the last version of Moho which was v5.4 I think.
